Maisons du Monde

Maisons du Monde needed to introduce a new section on its website to present its new vintage furniture catalogue.

As an innovation, they wanted to introduce for the first time a user area and e-commerce to sell their furniture and decoration products online.

Starting point

Adopting the Human Centered Design helped us focus on our customer objectives. We had to understand our customers’ needs, defining design challenges and finding the best solution.

We conducted surveys of new potential users, we did a benchmarking analysis and stakeholder interviews. Also we designed the User Persona, sitemap and navigation flow.

Project development

We did a research with heuristic analysis, user survey and empathy map. We designed a navigation bar with filters, comparator, wishlist, to facilitate the user journey. Is a website for all User Persona, for new users and recurrent users. We designed a section to locate furniture in different categories; styles, collections and much more.

As an additional proposal, we designed an access to the last orders, a wishlist and the possibility to save the furniture you liked to pay later.

We are talking about high-value furniture, therefore we needed to be careful with the details.

Conclusions

After a few months of work, we did a successful e-commerce. To promote our website, we created a 360º shopping experience and virtual reality. With this proposal, users could buy some of the furniture featured on the website.
